At benerail, we believe that no one should feel like just a number. Every colleague brings their own story, talents, and energy. This belief is at the heart of our culture, and it’s why we dedicate time each year to focus on well-being.
Our recent Well-Being Week was a celebration of that commitment. Across our Antwerp office, we created space for connection, reflection, and recharging. From quiet rooms and breathing workshops to team lunches and deep focus sessions, the week was designed to support everyone in their own way.
This initiative reflects our broader mission: contributing to sustainable international train travel while making a positive social and environmental impact. From the way we collaborate to the choices we make, we’re committed to leaving things better than we found them. This is not an easy task, and that is why we promise our employees three things: equality, safety, and efficiency. These values inspired us during Well-Being Week.
Equality
We know that great ideas come from diverse perspectives. During Well-Being Week, we encouraged open conversations and gave everyone a chance to share what well-being means to them. Respect and inclusion aren’t just values: they’re daily practices. As Marc De Boeck shared, “The session on connection was nice to share ideas, and to give a compliment at the end,” highlighting how these moments fostered genuine appreciation among colleagues. Amir Tavangarrad echoed this sentiment: “I liked that we took the time to see each other’s capabilities during sessions and connect more to our colleagues”.
Safety
We foster a safe and encouraging environment where people can explore boundaries. Whether it’s pitching a bold idea or simply taking a moment to recharge, we want our team to feel empowered to be their most authentic selves. As Prathiksha Ramaswamy reflected during our perfectionism workshop, “I could really relate with all the symptoms of perfectionism, and it was nice to share similar experiences we’ve had with each other.”
Efficiency
Efficiency at benerail means working smart, staying curious, and sharing knowledge. Well-Being Week reminded us that taking care of ourselves is part of working smart. “The breathing exercise to improve focus is something I’ll carry into my daily work,” said Marc. For Prathiksha, Well-Being Week was about “resisting the current of work and autopilot mode for a few moments to look at how you feel within.” She also noted, “Sometimes fixing the physical symptoms of stress already relieves the mental aspect”.
We’re proud of the initiatives our teams have launched—from our Sports Guild’s charity challenge to the ideas box that keeps fresh suggestions flowing. If you’re someone who values purpose, connection, and a workplace that truly listens, benerail might just be the place for you.
